Heavy security for pandas' departure from China (AP)

The Taiwanese caretakers in two groups have basically learned the breeding skills of pandas since October 2008. Yuan Yuan and Tuan Tuan, the 4-year-old pandas were scheduled to board a Taiwanese jetliner Tuesday for the 3-1/2 hour flight from Chengdu airport to Taipei after being transported in two large iron crates from their bushy habitat in Sichuan province. Reuters - A Chinese court has jailed a Tibetan who worked for a non-governmental organization for life for passing on information about the situation in the restless region to the outside world, a rights group said. Wangdu was given the sentence last month, the International Campaign for Tibet said in a emailed statement, quoting a report in a regional Tibetan newspaper published on November 8.
