Saudi, Egypt lead Arab states cutting Qatar ties, Iran blames TrumpBy Noah Browning DUBAI (Reuters) - Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain severed their ties with Qatar on Monday, accusing it of supporting terrorism and opening up the worst rift in years among some of the most powerful states in the Arab world. Iran -- long at odds with Saudi Arabia and a behind-the-scenes target of the move -- immediately blamed U.S. President Donald Trump for setting the stage during his recent trip to Riyadh. Gulf Arab states and Egypt have already long resented Qatar's support for Islamists, especially the Muslim Brotherhood which they regard as a dangerous political enemy.

WWDC 2017 live blog: iOS 11, Siri Speaker, MacBook Pro and more

Today is the day tens of millions of Apple fans around the world have been waiting for all year long. That's right, Apple is kicking off its annual developers conference with the WWDC 2017 keynote you've all been waiting for. WWDC itself is a great event, if for no other reason than the fact that it helps third-party developers learn how to make better apps — and every iPhone and iPad user out there obviously benefits from that. But the real action for consumers takes place at the very start of the show, when Apple unveils new software and hardware products during its big WWDC keynote presentation.

If you want to watch live streaming video of Apple's big WWDC 2017 keynote, you can do so right here. In this post, you'll find constant live updates from the entire BGR team as Apple unveils all of its latest software and hardware products set to hit Apple devices and store shelves over the course of the next few months.

So, what should we expect to see Apple show off on stage in San Jose, California on Monday? The biggest news will undoubtedly be iOS 11, which will usher in an exciting new set of features for iPhone and iPad users around the globe. New versions of macOS, watchOS, and tvOS will be unveiled as well during the WWDC 2017 keynote.

As for hardware, nothing is set in stone but there have been plenty of leaks leading up to today's big event. Rumor has it we can expect new MacBook Pro models with more modern processors, a redesigned iPad Pro that fits a 10.5-inch display into a device that's roughly the same size as the current 9.7-inch iPad Pro, and a new Siri Speaker designer to combat leading smart speakers like the Amazon Echo and Google Home.

Rumored MacBook Pro update will finally give users something to get excited about

Rumored MacBook Pro update will finally give users something to get excited about

As a developers conference, it's no surprise that Apple's WWDC keynote today -- not to mention its scheduled programs for the rest of the week -- will primarily focus on software. From iOS 11 to new updates involving macOS, watchOS, and tvOS, Apple's event today will have a decidedly software bent. That said, rumor has it that Apple may also make a few surprise hardware announcements as well, including a new edgeless 10.5-inch iPad and a long-rumored Siri-based speaker designed to go head to head with Amazon's Echo and Google Home.

One particularly exciting hardware update that has arguably been a few months overdue centers on Apple's flagship MacBook Pro with the Touch Bar. While nothing drastic is likely, there have been rumors that Apple later today will announce some nice spec bumps to its flagship notebook. While a spec bump isn't traditionally an update worth getting excited about, the MacBook Pro isn't exactly a traditional device. Though sales have seemingly been healthy, Apple's MacBook Pro with the Touch Bar was a controversial product from the get-go and elicited no shortage of backlash from both developers and creative professionals who quickly categorized the product as overpriced and underpowered. Not only was the Touch Bar greeted with a lukewarm response, but professionals bemoaned that RAM on the MacBook Pro with the Touch Bar was limited to just 16GB.

Not to worry, Apple today is expected to issue a relatively minor MacBook Pro refresh that will offer prospective users more bang for the buck. Not only will Apple's revamped MacBook Pro come equipped with speedier Kaby Lake processors from Intel, but rumor has it that the refresh will support 32GB of RAM.

All told, Apple's rumored MacBook Pro enhancements will go a long ways towards erasing some of the longstanding criticisms that have shrouded the machine since it's launch late last year.

Further, there are also rumblings that we'll see a MacBook refresh later today as well. And as a final point, rumor has it that Apple's MacBook Air line is dead.

Another exciting new iOS 11 feature just leaked ahead of WWDC 2017

We've seen plenty of iPhone 8 rumors so far, but not so many iOS 11 leaks. However, with just a few hours to go until Apple kicks off its annual WWDC keynote, the iPhone maker inadvertently leaked two exciting iOS 11 features, including the brand new iOS Files app and a feature that goes hand in hand with it.

Discovered by Steven Troughton-Smith inside the Feedback app for beta testers, a new Drag and Drop feature will let users easily copy and paste content from one app to another. The full entry reads "Split View/Drag and Drop," and suggests it's supposed to serve iPad users who use the split view functionality.

https://twitter.com/stroughtonsmith/status/871654476549169153

No such feature exists in current iOS versions, including stable releases or betas, so it's likely that Apple will launch it as part of iOS 11.

The two features, including Files and drag and drop, would offer users better control over their files as well as a way to quickly move content between apps open side by side on an iPad. And that includes various actions such as saving and uploading attachments, or even downloading and uploading content to the web.

It's unclear whether the feature would work in any way on iPhones, which don't support the split view mode on Apple's iPad. The drag and drop mention is still present in the Feedback app, and you can find it even on the iPhone version of the app.

Apple will introduce iOS 11 on Monday during its WWDC 2017 keynote, at which point it should confirm both the Files app and the drag and drop feature.
