Israel: 4 Palestinian attackers shot dead in latest violence Posted: 17 Oct 2015 12:38 PM PDT JERUSALEM (AP) — Palestinian assailants carried out five stabbing attacks in Jerusalem and the West Bank on Saturday, authorities said, as a month-long outburst of violence showed no signs of abating. The unrest came despite new security measures that have placed troops and checkpoints around Palestinian neighborhoods in east Jerusalem. At least four assailants were killed. |

Sketches of suspects in stabbing of French train hero released Posted: 17 Oct 2015 04:27 PM PDT The two composite sketches are based on eyewitness accounts of the Oct. 8 assault in the Northern California city, where Stone was stabbed several times during a fight outside a bar, police said. Investigators said they believe the male suspects were wearing white shirts and blue jeans. Police have not disclosed what caused the fight that led to "significant injuries" to Stone, who was taken to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. |

Odom, who appeared with Kardashian and her family in two reality television shows, emerged from the coma on Friday and was removed from a ventilator that was assisting his breathing, celebrity media reported. "The family is still totally consumed by what's going on with Lamar, and Khloé is checking in with regular updates, but there was so much positivity," the unidentified source told People Magazine. |
Oregon mass shooting survivor posts account of blood, pain and healing Posted: 17 Oct 2015 12:01 PM PDT Mintz, a 30-year-old U.S. Army veteran who has been hailed as a hero for his selflessness during the attack at Umpqua Community College in the town of Roseburg, described shooter Chris Harper-Mercer as emotionless. "It started so normal, the day that is," Mintz wrote in a graphic, blow-by-blow account of the minutes before and after the shooting. Mintz described running through the library warning people, then heading back toward Snyder Hall, where shots had been fired. |
